Holly J. (Parrish) Embley

Holly Jeaneice Embley, 48, of Brighton, Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, following a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

She was born January 14, 1976, in Alton, Illinois, to Merrel “Rick” and Barbara “Bobbi” (Lewis) Parrish.

After 25 years of marriage, Holly will be deeply missed by her high school sweetheart, Brian Embley, whom she married on October 17, 1998, in Jerseyville, Illinois.

Throughout her life, Holly was very active in the Cystic Fibrosis Community and was a member of the Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Protection District Auxiliary. She spent her free time doing all sorts of crafts, especially painting. Her family will remember her loving, kind heart, as well as her love for all animals, especially dogs. She was a true light in this world.

After receiving a double lung transplant in 2019, Holly’s final act of love was to give to those in the most desperate need, with the act of organ donation. This will impact countless lives and was a program very near and dear to her heart.

In addition to her husband, Holly will be remembered by her children, Blaine Embley and Anna Embley of Brighton; father and step mother, Rick and Debbie Parrish; sister, Bethany Parrish; mother-in-law, Ruth Embley; sisters-in-law, Michelle Embley and Maleri Dobson Parrish; nephew, Jacob Dixon; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bobbi Parrish, brother, Lucas Parrish, and father-in-law, Warner Embley.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton, Illinois.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials in Holly’s name be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (Gateway Chapter) or the Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Protection District.
