Betty Jean Wilcox, 99, of Brighton went to be with her Lord on Monday, November 13, 2023, at her home.


She was born on April 4, 1924, in Bartlesville, OK, the daughter of the late Otto and Fannie (Brown) Flowers.  She married Reece Wilcox on October 23, 1941 in Salem, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1978.


Betty worked as a cook at Christian Hospital NE before retiring to watch and care for her grandsons. She was an active member of Halls Ferry Christian Church and a member of their JOY class.


She is survived by her daughter Laura (David) Rich; grandchildren Seth (Tori), Caleb, Jacob, and Andrew Rich; great grandchildren Raegan and Ryder Rich; several extended family and church family.


Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Reece; daughters Carolyn Wilcox and Mary Alvarez; son Bill Wilcox; granddaughters Rachel Reynolds and Hannah Rich; brothers John and Melvin Flowers; sisters Ann Brackett and Frances Wilson.


Services will be private with a burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.


Memorials may be made to The Brick Farm House School.
