Kathy Jane Healey

Kathy Jane Healey, 69, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, January 31, 2021.

She was born to Eileen (Rothe) and Donald Voorhees Sr. on December 21, 1951.

On May 30, 1970, Kathy married her high school sweetheart, Forrest “Peck” Healey, at First Presbyterian Church in Brighton. Together they enjoyed: RV’ing, playing cards with their friends, Roger & Linda Joyce, watching hummingbirds, and their grandchildren. They were married for 38 years before he preceded her in eternal rest in 2009.

Kathy worked for the United States Postal Service as a clerk for many years. She was an avid gardener, loved simple pleasures, and was a master confectioner. Her treats were second to none. She was a devoted sister, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are her sons, Brad (Angie Ross) Healey of Godfrey and Kyle (Anna) Healey of Fosterburg; 5 siblings and their spouses, Deanna Kiehne, Darlene (Gary) Jenkins, Shirley (Don) Wilton, Donald Jr. (Linda) Voorhees, and Darrell (Gail) Voorhees; also three grandchildren, Stephen “Connor”, Madeline, and Kylie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald & Eileen Voorhees, her sister and two brothers-in-law, Donna & Bob Chism and Art Kiehne, and the love of her life, Peck.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Burial will follow in Brighton Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
