Marylou Grant, 55, of Brighton, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

She was born on June 24, 1968, the daughter of the late Bernard and Hazel (Burns) Spurgeon.

Marylou married John Grant on May 31, 2013, in Godfrey.  She was an avid baker, enjoyed gardening, and was always ready for a game of Skip Bo.  Marylou was always helping others and had a great love for Jesus.  She was a member of Meadowbrook Assembly of God.  She was also a very proud EMT.

She is survived by her husband John; children Donald Cunningham III, John Grant Jr, and Gabe Grant; grandchildren Blakely and Kaylee; siblings Teresa (Randy) Conlee, Vicki Dobbs, John Spurgeon, Nancy (Bill) Mundy, and Richard (Cindy) Spurgeon.

Marylou was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Florence Mitchell and Dale Grogan.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of funeral service at noon on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Burial will follow at Shipman Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
