Paul Douglas “Doug” Bunt, 74, of Shipman, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton.

He was born on March 13, 1950, in Alton, the son of the late William “Bill” and Viola “Vi” (Rhodes) Bunt.

Doug was a truck driver, retiring from Burns Trucking in 2022.  He was an avid motorcycle rider and car enthusiast, being a member in several different clubs over the years.  Doug was a past board member of Shipman City Board and currently sat on the Board of Miles Station Cemetery.

He is survived by his Fiancé Barbara Riechmann; son Paul Bunt of Valmeyer, IL; brothers Tom (Rhonda) Bunt, Ed (Cheryl) Bunt, and Tim Bunt Sr.; several nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Viola; brother Robert Hawkins.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of funeral service at noon, on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Burial will follow at Miles Station Cemetery.
