Raymond “Ray Ray” Howard Blackwood, 29, of Brighton, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at his home.
He was born on March 3, 1991 to Kevin and Janet (Newburger) Blackwood.
Ray worked as a landscaper for Native Roots Landscaping and Design in Brighton. He was a 2009 graduate of Southwestern High School and graduated from Lewis and Clark with an associates degree in science. Ray loved sports, avidly following the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, Duke Blue Devils, and golf especially Ricky Fowler. He enjoyed listening to music, singing karaoke, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Janet, two brothers Joseph (Tiffany) Blackwood of St. Charles, MO and Lee (Tara Puskar) Blackwood of Medora; paternal grandfather Vanas Blackwood; two nieces Lily and Payton Blackwood; several aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him.
Ray was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Jean Blackwood; maternal grandparents Lee and Helen Newburger.
No services will be held at this time, but a Celebration of Ray’s life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or National Kidney Foundation.
