Rebecca Deann (Shields) VanHooser

Rebecca Deann VanHooser, 50, passed away, Monday, February 15, 2021, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born November 26, 1970, in Carlinville, Illinois, to Alfred and Lois (Waggoner) Shields.

Becky had worked for Fayco Enterprises, whose mission is to integrate people with disabilities and other life issues into the community. Becky will be remembered by her eagerness to care for others.

On May 28, 2009, Becky married Billy Don VanHooser, in Greenville, Illinois. He survives.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her mother, Lois; sons, Matt Shields of Greenville, Cody VanHooser of Highland; one sister, Cindy Hale; and two brothers, Jerry (Carmen) Shields, Jim (Jan) Shields.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant brother, Ralph Shields.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. noon, on Monday, February 22, 2021, at United Methodist Church in Piasa, Illinois.

Burial will follow in Piasa Cemetery.
