Wanda Louise Keck, 93, of Shipman, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving daughters.

She was born January 21, 1931, in Dorchester, Illinois, to the late Charles and Irene (Schrier) Modlin.

On June 30, 1950, Wanda married Charles O. Keck, in Dorchester.  They enjoyed 63 years of marriage, prior to his death in 2013.

Throughout her life, Wanda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shipman where she faithfully served and volunteered.  She was also a member of the Ladies Aide Society and a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard, and was able to preserve the fruits of her labor by canning. She loved making things for her children and grandchildren with various sewing, crochet, and cross stitch projects. She enjoyed making cookies for and with her grandchildren and gathering for Sunday dinners. Her greatest joy was having a houseful of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Buddy) Fisher of Lebanon, Loretta Goebel of Memphis, TN, Laura (Brian) Cottingham of Brighton, Lola (Brian) Mans of Godfrey; grandchildren, Eric (Promise) Haynes, Brian (Billie) Haynes, Kevin (Chrissy) Haynes, Jessica (Jarod) Horn, Justin (Jenny) Cottingham, Mitch (Jocelyn) Goebel, Alyssa Goebel (Terrell Bush), Katie Mans (Bensen Tyrrell), Kellie (Josh Gentry) Mans, Jordan Cottingham; and fourteen great grandchildren, Claire, Anna, Carson, Alex, Jasmine, Andrew, and Micah Haynes, Avett, Maeve, Reeve, Davis, and Evren Horn, Oliver and Henry Cottingham.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene (Norman) Wolff; and brother, Charles Modlin.

Private family services have been arranged with Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Memorials in Wanda’s name may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Shipman.
